Why is Sound Quality important in film Blog Investigation and Work Log 11/7

Human voices, music, and sound effects are used in the production of films. These three types of noises are essential for a film's viewers to feel authentic. Sounds and dialogue in a film must be in perfect time with the action and must sound exactly as it appears. If a sound doesn't match the motion on the screen, the action isn't nearly as convincing. Using individual sound clips rather than sound libraries for sound effects is one technique to generate genuine, high-quality sounds.

For example, at the beginning of my film, I'm making it as if it's a horror film, sound design and foley might help to increase the suspense. In other horror films, it's better to instead of simply showing zombies or vampires, a terrifying sound or tense music cue can elicit the same reaction in the viewer. Suspense created with sound rather than pictures often feels more authentic to the audience because they interact with the sound subconsciously.

The first method sound design may improve your film is by providing an off-screen feeling of space. The pictures in the film show the audience what you want them to see, but sound can give them a better feel of what is going on off-screen. This adds depth to the universe of your film. That sense of a complete universe and diverse terrain is difficult to replicate in the pictures. Off-screen space can only be generated through sound. The theatrical sound design and speaker system will help with the impression of being in a full landscape, especially if your film is exhibited in a professional theater.

Asynchronous sound effects, generally in the form of background sounds, are another approach to make a picture more believable utilizing sound. These sounds are not immediately related to the action of a scene, yet they can bring a movie to life. Incorporating sounds from a city or rural location can serve to make the film's setting more authentic.

The process of recording, obtaining, altering, or producing audio materials is known as sound design. Filmmaking, television production, theater, sound recording and reproduction, live performance, sound art, post-production, and video game software development are all examples of where it is used.

Work Log:

Unfortunately, Cory got very busy over the weekend so we were unable to film anything for his film or mine. But some good news is that the monkey mask we ordered finally arrived. I also got together the other props we will be using. Also, I have my own DLSR camera, bought a new SD card for it, and my Dad gave me a tripod that he used to use when he had a photography phase. Cory and I plan to shoot his film sometime during the week after school and then however much of mine we can film over this coming weekend.
