Blockbuster vs Indie Movies- Investigation Blog Post 10/24
Movies have always been a big part of my life since I was a kid. Granted, as a child, all I wanted was pure enjoyment. I still do it now and then. When I was in high school, though, I began to appreciate movies as an art form rather than as two-hour entertainment. Since then, I've also noticed how I've begun to go toward indies rather than the blockbusters I used to watch.
Blockbusters- Films with enormous budgets that frequently star well-known stars and are distributed by major studios (Warner Brothers, Marvel, Fox, etc.). Superhero films, the Star Wars franchise, James Bond films, and other films of this type are sometimes referred to as "superhero movies." It's the big-budget action films.
Independent Films- Films that usually are low-budget, self-financed films that frequently cast lesser-known performers (though this isn't always the case) and cater to a specific audience. Also, they're made outside of the huge studio structure, and they're also made and distributed by independent entertainment organizations. Indie films are distinguished by their style and content, as well as the manner in which the filmmaker's personal artistic vision is achieved.
Work Log:
In class, I started working on the storyboard for my second film idea. (I want to do my second one first instead of my first idea). I also started talking with Cory about how we are going to work together on our first films. We want to have two separate films, but mine is kind of a continuation of his. This is because we found out we came up with almost the same idea. We discussed where and how we are going to film our videos.
Storyboard (Note* I have a second image of the backside but every time I upload it, it doesn't load in the preview.
